What is DTP?

DTP stands for Desktop Publishing. This service includes page layout, typesetting and graphic design provided by our internal graphic designers.

When are DTP services useful?

DTP is particularly useful when a translated document will be published or printed. But it can also be useful when the translated document is a PowerPoint or PDF file. With this service, you can be sure your final document will look very similar to the original.

What adaptations will your designers make to my design?

Our team always recreates a translated document so it matches the original file. However, they will often need to make adaptations because of differences among languages. Certain languages like English use fewer words than languages like French or Portuguese. Other languages have especially long words like German or Russian. This is what’s known as expansion and contraction factors, respectively.It’s also important to consider languages that are written from right to left such as Arabic and Hebrew, or those that are character-based, like Chinese and Japanese.
